I come from a farming community in a part of the Eastern Cape called Tsitsikamma, roughly 2 hours drive from Port Elizabeth.
Having gone to boarding school in Grahamstown and what one might consider a very privileged upbringing, life took a turn beyond my wildest dreams.
I headed on to study a Bcom in Cape Town and eventually dropped out, simply due to my deciding to study something that was popular as opposed to something I was passionate about.
This led me to pull up my socks and enter the working world and that’s where things got tricky, no university qualification and no experience was what seemed a never ending struggle just to survive on the bare minimum.
The jobs I got, I hated, the bosses I had were a mixed bag and the salaries I got after slaving away for hours were pretty poor.
So as my curiosity would have it, I went out in search of a better way. After trying countless different businesses models including IFA, Herbalife and dozens of online methods, which also came with buying thousands of rands worth of courses and guides over an 8 year period and still nothing seemed to work.
So my search continued and I never gave up hope of a better way, it came with so many challenges and the constant pressure of being told to just give up and take any job available.
